Derrell
Can you see that the schools exist for the benefit of the people who run them as opposed to the students! In order to push their socialist agenda they must keep a supply of under educated populace to keep voting for the Democrat/Teachers Union cabal in order to maintain this SHAMEFUL pillage. They are the Bernie Madoff of our children's mind. They show us a great report card that is as fraudulent as Madoff's financial statements!

Thanks for commenting. What's frustrating is that none of this is to say that "money" is unimportant per se...particularly for needy kids. It is to say there is a break-even point where more money is only more money to make a more expensive system, not more money to make a higher performing system.

Above all I grow frustrated that we can't even be honest about these basics. Expenses are high and standards are low in NJ. Yet our education establishment seems focused on ignoring the plain truth of what our kids, rich and poor, are getting in this state.

Fundamental to making good reforms is a consensus on exactly how "bad" things are. Seems like the status quo remains unwilling to acknowledge the obvious: that our kids are not getting what we are paying for.

Mr. Bradford,
I couldn't agree with you more. I recently completed my dissertation and the subject was student achievement and Abbott Funding. My research supports exactly what you are saying, at least someone else can see through the State of New Jersey.
